Combined Gas Law Calculator — P₁V₁/T₁ = P₂V₂/T₂

When a sealed gas sample is squeezed, heated, or expanded, the ratio PV/T stays constant. Enter the starting conditions and two of the three final conditions to find the missing one.

Combined Gas Law Calculator — P₁V₁/T₁ = P₂V₂/T₂

P1V1T1=P2V2T2\frac{P_1V_1}{T_1} = \frac{P_2V_2}{T_2}

How to interpret the result

Worked check: 1.00 atm and 2.00 L at 300 K compressed to 2.00 atm and 1.00 L → T_2 = 2.00×1.00×300/(1.00×2.00) = 300 K. Doubling pressure while halving volume leaves temperature unchanged.

Assumptions

  • Amount of gas is fixed (sealed container)
  • Ideal-gas behavior; temperatures in kelvin
