Rate Law Calculator — rate = k[A]ᵐ[B]ⁿ

A rate law multiplies the rate constant by each reactant concentration raised to its measured order. Enter k, the concentrations, and the orders to get the instantaneous rate — or solve backwards for k from experimental data.

Rate Law Calculator — rate = k[A]ᵐ[B]ⁿ

rate=k[A]m[B]nrate = k[A]^m[B]^n

How to interpret the result

Worked check: k = 0.050 M⁻¹s⁻¹, [A] = 0.10 M (first order), [B] = 0.20 M (first order) → rate = 0.050 × 0.10 × 0.20 = 0.0010 M/s. Orders come from experiments, never from the balanced equation.

Assumptions

  • Orders are experimentally determined (may be fractional or zero)
  • Temperature is constant (k depends on T)
