Atomic mass unit (dalton)
kg
The atomic mass unit, also called the dalton (Da), is defined as one twelfth the mass of a carbon-12 atom. It is the scale on which atomic weights are expressed: an atomic weight of 12.011 means an average carbon atom has 12.011 daltons of mass. Its value in kilograms is determined experimentally and recommended by CODATA.
