Elementary charge
C
The elementary charge is the electric charge carried by a single proton, equal in magnitude to the charge of one electron (opposite in sign). Since 2019 it is an exact defining constant of the SI, and its fixed value defines the ampere. It connects atomic-scale charge to macroscopic electric current.
