Periodic table quiz race

How fast can you think in elements? This quiz race fires symbols, names, and table positions at you while the clock ticks. Start with the famous elements and work up to full-table mastery, learning each family's personality as you play.

Round 1 / 10Score 0

Which element has symbol Fe?

How to play

  1. A prompt appears: a symbol, a name, a position, or a property clue.

  2. Pick the correct answer from four choices before time runs out.

  3. Streaks multiply your points; a wrong answer resets the streak.

  4. Each round covers a wider slice of the table.

  5. Beat your best score to climb the leaderboard ranks.

Scoring

Correct answers earn 10 points times your streak multiplier (up to 5x). No points for wrong answers, and the streak resets. Bonus round doubles all points.

What chemistry did you just use?

You trained the core skill behind the whole periodic table: connecting a symbol to its name, position, and family. Elements in the same group behave similarly because they share valence electron counts, which is why the table predicts chemistry instead of just listing it. Keep playing to lock in the first 36 elements and the major families.
